Description of position :

Symetrix, a dynamic company in full expansion located in Brossard, is currently seeking an experienced electrical engineer.

The candidate will fullfil an important role in the company's electrical engineering practice. He will conceive, plan and coordinate design, provisionning and electrical infrastructure installation projects for server rooms and large data centers. This position requires experience in electrical engineering related to electrical distribution, generators, derivation and UPS installation projects. Pertinent experience in the construction sector is an asset.

The candidate will join an multidisciplinary team of engineers and professionals working in the same field of activity who are responsible for all the phases of the execution of a project including:analysis of the client's needs, solutions development, proposal and reports redaction, design, activities plans, implantation and budget management as well as client, provider and subcontractors relation management.

Main Responsibilities :

• Responsible for the electrical design of the projects
• Conception and approval (signs) of technical plans, execution of conception calculations
• Participation to the development of budget estimates
• Follow-up on project designs with the electrical designer(s)
• Preparation of documents and reports (quotations, calendar, project status, etc.)
• Technical support during the follow-up on projects at the construction site
• Take readings of the electrical charge athe the construction site
• Specify the type of electrical equipment requested for a project

Other Responsabilities :

• May have to deal with customers in order to clearly identify their needs and provide information to the project
• Oversee budget and schedules
• Promote healthy management pratices between the stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of engineering practice standards in the company

Required Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineer and member of the OIQ
• 7 to 10 years of experience in electrical building design on the following main systems: distribution, generator, uninteruptible power supply, medium average distribution and protection 2 kV to 25 kV, security, control and automation, low and medium average motor supply, switchyard, surveillance camera, lighting and fire
• Master the Electrical Code
• Knowledge of the Building Code
• Good knowledge of the Canadian standards (IEEE, NFPA)
• Must be bilingual (french and english, spoken and written)
• Good redaction habilities

Assets :

• Certification or experience in project management
