Senior Director of Professional Services and Senior Engineer
Michel Côté is Senior Director of Professional Services and Senior Engineer at Symetrix. In this capacity, he oversees the company's professional services, data center project management and technical sales support.
Mr. Côté has extensive experience in the management of complex engineering projects both domestically and internationally, as well as in the areas of business development and telecommunications network design and implementation. Before joining Symetrix, he worked as a Director of Engineering at Aldea Solutions, where he oversaw design and maintenance activities for a high definition digital television video signal transmission network. Previously, he served as Director, Network Operations for the Réseau d’informations scientifiques du Québec (RISQ), where he managed the organization's network engineering and maintenance activities as well as the mechanical and electrical systems of a large-scale data center.
A few years earlier, Mr. Côté served as Operations Director at Nortel Networks, where he managed a multidisciplinary team of specialists and engineers, business development activities and the company’s day-to-day operations. Among other tasks, he took part in the management of numerous projects in France, Italy, Switzerland and several Gulf countries. He was also a General Director at Nortel Tunisia.
At Bell Canada, where he served as a General Manager, he supervised the implementation and development of a new network sourcing process. Previously, he worked as a Senior Assistant Engineer – Building Electrical Design; in this capacity, he was frequently called upon to deal with building and technical equipment managers. He headed various large-scale engineering projects, among others the replacement, without service interruption, of generators and electrical entries in several of the company’s major switching centers in Montreal. He was also in charge of managing the infrastructure of the company's main data center.
Mr. Côté has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Laval University and is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
